Dear Theater Families,
We are getting closer and closer to show time! Even though we are still several weeks away from our first performance, the heat is on which means our budding actors need to be practicing their dances and songs, reviewing their blocking and working towards getting off book fully. It’s a fact that young kids learn best through repetition. The same goes for learning their lines and blocking. From our youngest actor to oldest actor, they can all benefit from showing you their scenes, working on their lines, as well as playing the music while you read their lines/lyrics with them at the same time. Since we only have one rehearsal on Sundays, it’s really important that they review their work several times during the week. There are a lot of BIG numbers that include all cast members. Our kids will be even more confident and happy on the stage if they know their lyrics to the songs and feel that they “own” their space and actions on the stage. You will see that within the next week reality will begin to settle in even further and our kids will become more focused on the end prize. This is part of the continual magic we get to experience by doing a JPAS production!
Now is the time where your help really matters. We thank you for your on-going commitment to the show/program.
Rehearsal - Sunday, March 6
Both casts will meet in Zale Auditorium at 1:30 pm. Pick-up will be at 5:30. Please remind our performers to bring their scripts and a pencil.

Need Volunteers for our Performances
A round of applause to those of you who have already volunteered, thank you! We still have several spots left that NEED to be filled. If you haven’t selected a slot, please don’t hesitate. It takes a village to put together a show and your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Why Our Seuss Experience is Going to be Unique and Awesome!
Get ready for an exciting experience! In addition to watching our A.M.A.Z.I.N.G actors perform, we decided to step it up a notch and let the viewing experience be interactive and to get the audience involved. So...we are creating prop bags. Each prop bag will include several items for audience members to use during the show so they can participate and actively join in the fun! In addition to selling our prop bags at the show, we will have ice cream, refreshments, raffles, and more!
And More! JPAS Partners with Half Price Books!
Last week I shared with you our partnership with Education First Steps whose mission is to increase the quality and availability of early childhood education for disadvantaged children in North Texas (JPAS is providing them 100 free tickets to give to the families in their program). I’d like to announce that we also have partnered with Half Price Books. During both matinee shows on Sunday at 2 pm (April 3 & April 10) Half Price Books will have a Dr. Seuss Book booth. Seussical lends itself to an amazing literacy opportunity as Dr. Seuss is a literary icon, and we couldn’t be more excited to have his books available for sale at our performances.
Marketing Mamas Volunteers (Dads you are invited too!)
Thank you to all of our amazing marketing volunteers that came to last Sunday’s meeting. You rock! We had about 8 parents show up who will be dispersing posters, flyers, and putting up yard signs! There has been a small delay in the social media marketing package I had planned on sending you this week. As a reminder it will contain several easy-to-use images/email marketing campaigns that you can use to spread the word amongst your co-workers, family, and friends. This will be sent to you on Monday.
Kids are Marketers Too!
I’ve received some wonderful feedback about our actors feeling empowered by handing out their small flyers! Keep the stories coming, I love them. If your child has not handed their flyers out yet, please encourage them to bring them to school, give them to their friends/teachers or to hand them out to your neighbors or at another one of their after school activities. This exercise is beyond marketing the performances. This small act teaches our actors to take ownership of their “work”, to speak out when otherwise shy, to learn a “behind the scenes” skill and ultimately a sense of pride in something they are committed to.
Purchase Your Tickets - Buy Early and Save!
The process is super easy. Click the “Purchase Tickets” button and purchase! Remember each family will receive 1 complimentary ticket.
Pack a snack. No more vending machine.
Unfortunately due to time, we can’t offer performers to use the vending machine for snacks. It takes way too long. Please pack a healthy snack for rehearsals and a water bottle.
