JOB TITLE: TEACHERS AND SUBSTITUTES -Early Childhood Center

REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood

 EXPERIENCED WITH 12 MONTHS THROUGH 4 YEARS OF AGE. 

The perfect candidate will have at least five years’ experience teaching preschool, an education related degree and references.  A candidate in the process of getting their degree with a CDA may be eligible. CPR/Infant CPR and First Aid certifications are required. The ideal candidate will work well in a team atmosphere, follow school policies, and communicate well both verbally and in writing.  Pay is commensurate with experience.   EOE (equal opportunity employer). 

These positions are full time and/or part time.

  • Understands and can articulate the principles of child growth and development

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word are a bonus. Experience with on-line share sites will be helpful. 

Substitutes must have a high school diploma and experience with children — flexible hours.

JOB TITLE: Sports and Fitness Director

REPORTS TO: Agency President

OVERVIEW: The Sports and Fitness Director is a management position. This person creates the department vision

with the Sports and Fitness Committee. This position provides complete support, supervision and oversight

including all business functions for the Sports and Fitness Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sport & Recreation Administration:

  • Supervision of all business functions in the area of sports and fitness.
  • Provide financial oversight through budget development and budget monitoring for all departments listed including camps.
  • Partner with the agency marketing department to create an overall marketing plan for sports and fitness.
  • Supervise, assist, guide, train and evaluate Directors/Coordinators of all areas


Departmental oversight for the following Sports & Recreation Departments:  

• Sports & Recreation

o Sports, Sports Leagues and Classes, Sports Camp

o Gymnastics:

o Tennis

o JCC Maccabi Games

Sports & Recreation General:

  • Support, maintain and enhance current programming of all departments including camps
  • Support, create, and develop new programming including leagues and camps.
  •  Partner with the agency marketing department to create a marketing plan for all areas of focus
  • Develop new and expand existing revenue generating opportunities.
  • Create, implement, and monitor measurable goals for all Sports & Recreation programs and activities

JCC Maccabi Games:

  •  Oversee all Delegation Head functions as outlined by the Dallas JCC and the JCC Association.
  • Provide complete supervisory support for all local delegation JCC Maccabi Games programs and activities.
  • Provide complete supervisory support for the local delegation JCC Maccabi Games.
  • Support, maintain, and enhance current local delegation JCC Maccabi Games programs and activities.
  • Support, create and develop new local delegation JCC Maccabi Games programs and activities.
  • Provide financial oversight through budget development and budget monitoring for local delegation JCC Maccabi Games.
  • Partner with the agency marketing department to create a marketing plan for local delegation JCC Maccabi Games.


Fitness and Wellness: 

Fitness & Wellness Administration:

  • Supervise, assist, guide, train and evaluate Directors/Coordinators of all areas

  • Oversight of special projects and special event fundraising.

o Aquatics:

Fitness and Wellness - General

  • Support, maintain and enhance current programming of all departments including camps
  • Support, create, and develop new programming including all areas of Fitness and Wellness
  •  Partner with the agency marketing department to create a marketing plan for all areas of focus
  • Develop new and expand existing revenue generating opportunities.
  • Create, implement, and monitor measurable goals for fitness and wellness programs and activities

   Fundraising and Special Events:

     Provide direct support for all department fundraising activities including the Bagel Run.

In conjunction with the Development Department research, identify, and create new fundraising opportunities for the overall department.

  • Create, implement, and monitor measurable fundraising goals for the department.
  •  Provide financial oversight from budget development through ongoing budget management.
  •  Develop brand new and expand existing revenue generating opportunities.

    Additional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight of state of the art fitness and recreation facility including dealing with issues in all related areas
  • Must be a leader both on training and implementation of Customer Service in all related areas
  • Establish and provide full support for the volunteer Sports and Fitness Committee.
  • Create an overall department vision with department staff and the department committee in which all programs and activities can be measured.
  • Serve as a member of the Management Team.


EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE

• College degree in related field preferred.

• Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

JOB TITLE: Lifeguard & Swim Instructors

REPORTS TO: Aquatics Director

OVERVIEW: The Jewish Community Center of Dallas is an EOE (Equal Opportunity Employer).

                              This part time position is not eligible for benefits.

Salary based upon experience.

Maximum 29 hours a week (days TBD) Weekend hours required

We are looking for outgoing & dynamic qualified swim instructors lifeguards for our facility. Must work independently, be a team player and energetic with a positive attitude. Dependability and punctuality is a must! A current Lifeguard CPR & First Aid Certification is required. If you have experience as a swim instructor and are looking to teach in a friendly and team oriented atmosphere, we need you!

Preschool Swim Lesson Instructor
Hours 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday

The preschool swim lesson instructor is responsible for instructing swim lessons for the NAEYC accredited Dallas JCC Early Childhood Center.  The lessons are scheduled for every Monday – Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and the candidate for this position must be able to be present for all days and times. In addition, candidates for this position will be responsible for creating lesson plans and weekly progress sheets for each child.  The progress sheet will provide parents and the Aquatics Director information on each child’s development. This part time, nonexempt, position will report directly to the Aquatics Director.      

Job Requirements:

  • American Red Cross – Current Lifeguard Certification & Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred. (Other certifications such as YMCA    Lifeguard and Swim Instructor will be considered, if current).
  •  A minimum of two years of swim instructor experience.

Welcome/Security Desk - Part Time

The Dallas Jewish Community Center is looking for personable, outgoing individuals to work at our Welcome/Security Desk.  This part time position will be responsible for greeting all individuals who enter the JCC, sign them in, offer directions and assistance.  The hours are:

Monday – Thursday          7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Friday                            7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Sunday                           8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Naturescape Sunday Supervisor

Hours 10:45 – 3:15 p.m.

The Naturescape – Sunday Supervisor, under the supervision of the the Early Childhood Director, works in the JCC Naturescape.  This job requires a dedication to the physical welfare and safety of children at all times.  Dependability, flexibility, the ability to multi-task, strong communication and customerservice skills are critical qualities.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate, schedule and supervise staff for Naturescape on Sundays.
  • Responsible for maintaining members only admission policy; report any issues to your supervisor.
  • Perform safety checks of the outdoor play spaces; report any issues to management using an unsafe/unhealthy condition form.  If necessary, close area until problem is resolved.
  • Check for unsafe or unsanitary conditions, i.e., standing water in toys/equipment, scattered trash.  Clean as needed or close area until repaired.
  • Prohibit the improper use of playground equipment.
  • Instruct staff to continuously scan the playground for potential safety situations.  Staff must remain focused and avoid distractions and intrusions.
  • If a child is hurt or injured, follow appropriate first aid procedures depending on the severity of the injury. 
  • Find the emergency box located on each playground to use the first aid kit.  React immediately to any emergency
  • situation by handling it or calling it to the attention of another staff member.
  • All staff must carry a cell phone but usage is not allowed except in cases of emergencies. 
  • Toys or materials must be stored in their proper location at the end of day’s use.
  • Be familiar with and enforce the Naturescape rules.
  • If you are the last one to leave, ensure all children have been accounted for, the area is clean (picking up trash, gathering lost articles, etc.) and safe for the next group. Turn off all water (like the art sinks).
  • Complete closing checklist before locking up.  Provide report to Management on Monday morning.
