Take the Counselor-In-Training Camp Adventure and become the next Adventure Guide! Experience the fun and challenge of being a camp counselor while learning the skills to prepare for the job. Teens entering 9th grade will participate in all camp activities with mentoring counselors to learn leadership skills, teaching techniques,and relationship building with children. Learn at formal training sessions covering child and group development, how to teach games, build adventures, program planning and more. Being a CIT gets you ready for Summer 2015 when you get to lead the pack and be part of our very own superior Adventure Guide Teams.

DAILY HIGHLIGHTS

Camp Chai:
Mornings choose a group to work with and experience different ages. during the last week of each session, choose a group to be with

Camp Simchah:
Work closely with teachers and experienced staff learning skills needed to guide young children

Formal Training Sessions:
Learn from senior staff skills to work with children

LAURA SEYMOUR, This summer clientuploads/_SummerCamp2014/header/LauraSeymour_2010.jpg
is Laura Seymour’s 37th year as the Director Camp Chai with over 50 years as a camper and camp staff member.  Believing that camp is an essential experience for every child, Laura has built Camp Chai to be the finest day camp in Dallas and beyond giving generations of children and families summers of growth, adventure and belonging.

clientuploads/_SummerCamp2014/Cynthia sm.jpgCYNTHIA CASPER, Camp Simchah Director for 8 years and teacher at the GFECC for over 28 years. With a degree in Early Childhood, Cynthia is the Music Specialist and Mommy & Me Coordinator at the GFECC. Cynthia brings a love of learning and creating growing experiences for young children. Cynthia’s two children grew up at the J through preschool and camp.
