Wellness Membership Administrative Assistant

Wellness Membership Administrative Assistant will be responsible for disseminating information about general membership, Healthways, American Specialty Health and other secondary supplemental wellness programs offered to eligible patrons. This part time, non-exempt position will work 20 – 24 hours a week. This is not a benefit level position. EOE (equal opportunity employer).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Answer phone calls to set up tours of the facility and provide information for programs offered
  • Offer tours and maintain the highest level of knowledge pertaining to the facilities and programs
  • Ability to walk whole facility several times a day
  • Participate in planning and implementing selected project events. Attend events to help solicit and retain members
  • Cross market Social Club and lunch program, Preschool as well as adult and youth sports leagues, aquatics, gymnastics, tennis, etc.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years customer service and administrative experience
  • Professional appearance, manner, tone and attitude
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Must take initiative and require little supervision
  • Strong writing and organizational skills; detailed oriented
  • Efficiency (time sensitive tasks)
  • Multi-task and prioritize

Post JCC Maccabi Engagement Coordinator
(Paid) Summer Temporary Help Needed

The Post JCC Maccabi Engagement Coordinator will perform administrative functions allowing the JCC to connect with the Volunteers, Hosts, Athletes, and Spectators for the 2015 JCC Maccabi Games.

Mission: Working towards making everyone feel great about the games and nurture engagement throughout and beyond the games themselves.

Dates: Early May - August 14

Immediate Tasks: Creating a thank-you process for now and after the games. This will include database management and customer relationship management.

Business Office Manager – Sports and Fitness
Reports to Sports & Fitness Director

OVERVIEW:

The Business Office Manager is responsible for supporting the business, operational, and administrative processes in the department. He/she will also supervise the staffing and managing of the Kids Klub. This exempt salaried position offers a benefits package. Salary based upon experience. Core hours Monday - Friday 9 a.m.–6 p.m., some weekend worked required. EOE (equal opportunity employer).

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative assistance to Sports & Fitness Director as well as support other S&F Directors (tennis, gymnastics, aquatics, sports, group fitness, fitness & wellness)
  • Provide financial and accounting support for tracking budgets, processing purchase requisitions, submitting/maintaining accurate accounting codes, tracking rentals and rosters, and payroll.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of S&F supplies including but not limited to: towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Responsible for ordering and keeping products stocked.
  • Assist in coordination of fund raising projects.
  • Supervise the Kids Klub; ensure staffing for all shifts, all days; manage the program as to record-keeping, reservations, providing a safe environment; cover shifts if needed; evaluate participant usage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication is necessary to support the department endeavors.
  • Ability to multitask in order to organize incoming and outgoing communications. Ability to understand the relationship of information and its effect throughout all processes and programs to be proactive and utilize appropriate levels of initiative.
  • Efficiency, prioritization, and ability to meet deadlines in a constant changing environment.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Access. Ability to learn and implement new programs (i.e. Thinsoft) as needed.
  • Must be able to be flexible with working schedule to participate in staff meetings and department or agency wide events.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a proven track record of utilizing good judgment and decision making skills to be able to work independently.
  • Must have a proven track record of intermediate accounting and math skills to process billing, payroll and calculate fees.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • College degree in related area preferred.
  • Detail oriented and well-organized, with ability to plan projects, activities and schedule several months in advance.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an office/administrative capacity required.
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • This position requires independent judgment, initiative, and advanced administrative skills.

The perfect candidate will have at least five years’ experience teaching preschool, an education related degree and references. A candidate in the process of getting their degree with a CDA may be eligible. CPR/Infant CPR and First Aid certifications are required. The ideal candidate will work well in a team atmosphere, follow school policies, and communicate well both verbally and in writing.

 The following job responsibilities and understanding is necessary:

      • Both recognizes and understands the power of interactions with students and the effects on learning and behavior
      • Focused on planning a safe, healthy, supportive and respectful learning environment
      • Experience in planning emergent curriculum that is based on a consistent school-wide thematic framework yet is highly individualized by classroom
      • Understands different approaches to learning and can differentiate based on both individual and group needs
      • Is proactive in the advancement of children’s physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development
      • Confident in multiple strategies to foster productive relationships with families
      • Maintains a commitment to professionalism both within and outside the confines of the school
      • Familiar with observing and recording children’s behavior and allowing these findings to guide instruction
      • Understands and can articulate the principles of child growth and development

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word are a bonus. Experience with on-line share sites will be helpful.

Part Time Fitness Floor Staff

The Fitness Floor Staff, under the supervision of the Fitness Director will be responsible for direct and indirect customer service to the members while in the fitness center. . Customer service is a priority. Make all members and guests at the JCC feel welcome and comfortable. Become familiar with members’ names as a tool to aid in customer service

HOURS (subject to change): Monday- 5-10:30pm, Tuesday 10am-2pm, Wednesday 5-10:30pm, Thursday 4:45-10am, Friday 4:45-10am

**In need of openers that are able to work as early as 4:30 am during the weekdays**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1. Customer service is a priority.
        Make all members and guests at the JCC feel welcome and comfortable. Become familiar with members’ names as a tool to aid in customer service.
        Tasks: Arriving on time to work scheduled shift. Greet/acknowledge all members in the Fitness Center. Offer towels to members using equipment. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and appearance of fitness center. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

      2. Provide correct equipment instruction to members.Tasks: Approach and offer correct techniques to members using equipment improperly, and/or those who have never used the machine before. Providing equipment orientations to members as scheduled.

      3. Enforce JCC Fitness Center policies.Tasks: Enforce minimum age policy of 15 years unless accompanied by parent, then the age is 13/14. Enforce proper attire, including shirt and shoes, in order to use the facility.

      4. Facility upkeep.Tasks: Pick up magazines, reading racks, towels, weights that have been left out. Routinely check audio/visual system for damaged parts. Routinely check weight equipment for ripped pads, damaged belts, cables and snap hooks. Refill Gym Wipes needed. Clean equipment pads and consoles as needed.

      5. Other duties.Proper and timely completion of payroll forms. Checking equipment orientation book for orientations during your shift. Checking mailbox for memos, schedules and educational materials. May have to cover fitness desk occasionally. Attendance at staff meetings as scheduled.

On-Call Catering Assistant
The JCC is looking for part time/on-call catering help. This is an as needed position only.

REQUIREMENTS:

      • Must be familiar with health and cleanliness standards for food preparation and presentation.

Swim instructors must adhere to all Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy policies and procedures. Previous experience as a swim instructor is not required but it is a plus.
