JOB TITLE: Post JCC Maccabi Engagement Coordinator
(Paid) Summer Temporary Help Needed

The Post JCC Maccabi Engagement Coordinator will perform administrative functions allowing the JCC to connect with the Volunteers, Hosts, Athletes, and Spectators for the 2015 JCC Maccabi Games.

Mission: Working towards making everyone feel great about the games and nurture engagement throughout and beyond the games themselves.

Dates: Early May - August 14

Immediate Tasks: Creating a thank-you process for now and after the games. This will include database management and customer relationship management.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player
  • Proficient in database management
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Detail-oriented
  • Expected to meet all deadlines
  • Microsoft Suite, Photoshop, Social Media Tools

POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR TEACHERS AND SUBSTITUTES EXPERIENCED WITH 12 MONTHS THROUGH 4 YEARS OF AGE. 

 These positions are full time and/or part time.

The perfect candidate will have at least five years’ experience teaching preschool, an education related degree and references. A candidate in the process of getting their degree with a CDA may be eligible. CPR/Infant CPR and First Aid certifications are required. The ideal candidate will work well in a team atmosphere, follow school policies, and communicate well both verbally and in writing.

 The following job responsibilities and understanding is necessary:

  • Both recognizes and understands the power of interactions with students and the effects on learning and behavior
  • Focused on planning a safe, healthy, supportive and respectful learning environment
  • Experience in planning emergent curriculum that is based on a consistent school-wide thematic framework yet is highly individualized by classroom
  • Understands different approaches to learning and can differentiate based on both individual and group needs
  • Is proactive in the advancement of children’s physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development
  • Confident in multiple strategies to foster productive relationships with families
  • Maintains a commitment to professionalism both within and outside the confines of the school
  • Familiar with observing and recording children’s behavior and allowing these findings to guide instruction
  • Understands and can articulate the principles of child growth and development

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word are a bonus. Experience with on-line share sites will be helpful. 

Substitutes must have a high school diploma and experience with children — flexible hours.

JOB TITLE: Part Time Fitness Floor Staff

The Fitness Floor Staff, under the supervision of the Fitness Director will be responsible for direct and indirect customer service to the members while in the fitness center. . Customer service is a priority. Make all members and guests at the JCC feel welcome and comfortable. Become familiar with members’ names as a tool to aid in customer service

HOURS (subject to change): Monday- 5-10:30pm, Tuesday 10am-2pm, Wednesday 5-10:30pm, Thursday 4:45-10am, Friday 4:45-10am

**In need of openers that are able to work as early as 4:30 am during the weekdays**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Customer service is a priority.
    Make all members and guests at the JCC feel welcome and comfortable. Become familiar with members’ names as a tool to aid in customer service.
    Tasks: Arriving on time to work scheduled shift. Greet/acknowledge all members in the Fitness Center. Offer towels to members using equipment. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and appearance of fitness center. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  2. Provide correct equipment instruction to members.Tasks: Approach and offer correct techniques to members using equipment improperly, and/or those who have never used the machine before. Providing equipment orientations to members as scheduled.

  3. Enforce JCC Fitness Center policies.Tasks: Enforce minimum age policy of 15 years unless accompanied by parent, then the age is 13/14. Enforce proper attire, including shirt and shoes, in order to use the facility.

  4. Facility upkeep.Tasks: Pick up magazines, reading racks, towels, weights that have been left out. Routinely check audio/visual system for damaged parts. Routinely check weight equipment for ripped pads, damaged belts, cables and snap hooks. Refill Gym Wipes needed. Clean equipment pads and consoles as needed.

  5. Other duties.Proper and timely completion of payroll forms. Checking equipment orientation book for orientations during your shift. Checking mailbox for memos, schedules and educational materials. May have to cover fitness desk occasionally. Attendance at staff meetings as scheduled.

 JOB TITLE: Graphics Coordinator – Temporary Position


REPORTS TO: Marketing/Communications and Program Director

This should be accomplished through the following non-inclusive list: computer software, illustrations, clean design, graphic layouts, interactive media, e- marketing, visual and written communications, web banners, online ads (future), brand development. The Graphics Coordinator will be an integral part of the creative team and will serve as the “go to” resource for all daily requests.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills, *proofreading, interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills a must.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – particularly * In Design, Photo Shop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Winn Zip, and Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within the field. Knowledge of E-marketing is essential.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment with a track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and keep cool while wearing many hats in a fast-paced, creative, and flexible environment. Must be detail oriented in all aspects of position.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript, wireframes, cross-browser and cross-platform experience - Flash experience also a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate daily projects for the Graphics Department (including project management and accounting for projects)
  • Work with staff members and mainly the marketing team on executing marketing projects in a timely manner
  • Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications on strategic planning, Basecamp updates and weekly task management
  • Develop new and/or make revisions to existing InDesign files and other marketing materials as needed.
  • Design and manage promotional printed media (newsletters, brochures, web banners, flyers, etc.). and e-marketing campaigns
  • Excellent proofing and spelling skills.
  • Gather feedback from the Marketing Team on Web development graphic needs.
  • Remain up-to-date on the best practices in technology and Web/print style.
  • Utilize various graphic software tools and technologies to transform graphic concepts into specific electronic applications on and off-line.
  • Ability to maintain a positive customer service attitude when dealing with internal/external customers and vendors.

We are looking for outgoing & dynamic qualified swim instructors lifeguards for our facility. Must work independently, be a team player and energetic with a positive attitude. Dependability and punctuality is a must! A current Lifeguard CPR & First Aid Certification is required. If you have experience as a swim instructor and are looking to teach in a friendly and team oriented atmosphere, we need you!

Must work independently, be a team player, energetic with a positive attitude.  Dependability and punctuality is a must!  40 hours of initial training is required and provided by our facility.  Swim instructors must adhere to all Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy policies and procedures.  Previous experience as a swim instructor is not required but it is a plus.  If you are looking to teach in a friendly and team oriented atmosphere, we want you!
