JOB TITLE: Facilities Manager/Chief Engineer

REPORTS TO: Assistant Executive Director

The individual is responsible for four main areas of oversight: Building & Grounds Maintenance & Repair; Preventative Maintenance, and Administrative Services that fall under the auspices of the position. This exempt salaried position offers a benefits package.EOE (equal opportunity employer).

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

  • Supervision of facility systems operations
  • Hiring, training, and supervision of agency maintenance staff
  • Creation and development of a daily check list insuring all systems are functioning effectively
  • Timely and accurately take corrective action if systems are not functioning effectively
  • Direct oversight of all agency systems to include but not limited to: security, energy management, HVAC, landscaping, telephone     system, service contracts.
  • Ability to make standard repairs (hands on assistance if needed).
  • Hiring, training, and supervision of agency repair staff.
  • Proficiency in one trade area i.e. HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electric.
  • Oversight of in house repairs, and contracted repairs.
  • Management of an agency repair and replacement schedule.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE:

Development of a system which will maintain data in the following areas: overall preventative maintenance audit; overall preventative maintenance schedule; system to identify what has been completed and what needs to be completed; strict adherence to deadlines.

  • This position requires independent judgment, initiative and advanced administrative skills.

JOB TITLE: Graphic/Web Designer

The Graphic/Web Designer is a creative, forward-thinking individual who will partner in the look and feel of the agency’s overall graphics, marketing and manage the .com functions. The position is in-house.

This should be accomplished through the following non-inclusive list: computer software, illustrations, clean design, graphic layouts, interactive media, e-marketing, visual and written communications, web banners, online ads (future), landing pages, micro sites and brand development. The Graphic/Web Designer will be an integral part of the creative team and will serve as the “go to” resource for all .com needs. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience within the field.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript, wireframes, cross-browser and cross-platform experience - Flash experience also a plus.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR TEACHERS AND SUBSTITUTES EXPERIENCED WITH 12 MONTHS THROUGH 4 YEARS OF AGE. 

 These positions are full time and/or part time.

The perfect candidate will have at least five years’ experience teaching preschool, an education related degree and references. A candidate in the process of getting their degree with a CDA may be eligible. CPR/Infant CPR and First Aid certifications are required. JOB TITLE: Fitness and Wellness Director

REPORTS TO: Sports and Fitness Director

OVERVIEW: The Fitness and Wellness Director is a Department Head position. This position creates the department vision with the Sports and Fitness Director, Assistant Executive Director and members of the board. This position provides complete support and oversight for the Fitness and Wellness departments.  EOE (equal opportunity employer), this position offers benefits package. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administration:

  • Supervision of all administrative functions in the area of fitness and wellness to include general and specialized personal training, group fitness and the sports and fitness welcome desk.
  • Special projects and wellness initiatives are also essential to the success of this department and will be a major function of the Fitness and Wellness Director position.

Fitness:

  • Supervise, assist, guide, train, and evaluate the fitness floor staff.
  • Coordinate and acquire Independent Contractors: Personal Trainers, Massage Therapists, Nutritionist, Dieticians and MAT Therapists.
  • Compile, prepare and submit bi-monthly invoices for Independent Contractors
  • Support and promote current fitness programs.
  • With the assistance of the Sports and Fitness Director seek out new opportunities for the department
  • Maintain fitness equipment and develop annual equipment replacement plans.

Special Events:

  • Provide direct support for all department special events.
  • Maintain and manage all current special events.
  • Research, identify, and create new special events to enhance the overall department.
  • Utilize department staff to assist with the many tasks necessary to provide quality, successful special events.
  • Create, implement, and monitor measurable goals for each special events.
  • Provide financial oversight from budget development through ongoing budget management.
  • Partner with the agency marketing department to create and implement a marketing plan that will provide support for attaining department goals.
  • Develop brand new and expand existing revenue generating opportunities.

Wellness Initiatives:

  • Provide direct support for agency wide wellness initiatives.
  • In conjunction with the Sports and Fitness Director, Assistant Executive Director and Wellness Committee, research, identify, and create new wellness opportunities for the overall agency.
  • Create, implement, and monitor measurable wellness goals for the department.
  • Provide financial oversight from budget development through ongoing budget management.
  • Develop brand new and expand existing revenue generating opportunities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight of facilities issues in all related areas.
  • Must be a leader both in training and implementation of Customer Service in all related areas.

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree in related area preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the fitness field
  • Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong human relations, communication, administrative and organizational skills required
  • Operational knowledge of fitness equipment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software: including MS Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook

JOB TITLE: Sports & Fitness Service Desk Receptionist

This position works in the Fitness Office Reception area and also serves as a “face of the J.” As such, the Service Desk Receptionist must exhibit professionalism at all times. The job requires dependability, flexibility, ability to multi-task and attention to detail. Make all members and guests at the JCC feel welcome and comfortable. Work scheduled times as required by Member Services Coordinator; flexibility in schedule is required. Greet all individuals coming in to the Fitness Center and provide the information and/or services requested in a positive manner.

**In need of openers that are able to work as early as 4:30 am during the weekdays**

  • Customer service is a priority! Make all members and guests at the JCC feel welcome and comfortable.

  • Upon arrival to shift, use the first 5 minutes to walk the locker rooms, gyms, tennis area, hallways and make sure you are aware of any special events taking place.

  • Work scheduled time as required by Member Services Coordinator; flexibility in schedule is required. Make sure you are always on time for your assigned shifts.

  • Greet all individuals coming in to the Fitness Center and provide the information and/or services requested in a positive manner. Request member identification cards and scan cards to ensure member is in good standing. Follow procedures for members who do not have proper identification.

  • Be respectful to members in helping them to understand and abide by the policies of the JCC. Report any issues to Management.

  • Provide assistance to and interact with staff in a positive and professional manner. Report any problems to Supervisor.

  • Distribute and fold towels as needed.

  • Handle all incoming calls with the proper greeting. Make reservations for various health and fitness activities. Balance phone customer service with in-person customer service.

  • Report all maintenance needs to supervisor or management staff.

  • Keep lost and found items together.

  • Supervise the Fitness Reception area for proper decorum and general cleanliness.

  • Handle emergencies within the building quickly and efficiently – have thorough knowledge of the JCC Manual for Emergency Planning and Crisis Management.

  • When on duty, uniform shirts (provided by agency) including closed toed shoes is required. Name Tag must also be worn.

  • Wear Assigned polo to shift each day.

JOB TITLE: Part Time Fitness Floor Staff

The Fitness Floor Staff, under the supervision of the Fitness Director will be responsible for direct and indirect customer service to the members while in the fitness center. . Customer service is a priority. Make all members and guests at the JCC feel welcome and comfortable. Become familiar with members’ names as a tool to aid in customer service

HOURS (subject to change): Monday- 5-10:30pm, Tuesday 10am-2pm, Wednesday 5-10:30pm, Thursday 4:45-10am, Friday 4:45-10am

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Customer service is a priority.

  2. Provide correct equipment instruction to members.Tasks: Approach and offer correct techniques to members using equipment improperly, and/or those who have never used the machine before. Providing equipment orientations to members as scheduled.

  3. Enforce JCC Fitness Center policies.Tasks: Enforce minimum age policy of 15 years unless accompanied by parent, then the age is 13/14. Enforce proper attire, including shirt and shoes, in order to use the facility.

  4. Facility upkeep.Tasks: Pick up magazines, reading racks, towels, weights that have been left out. Routinely check audio/visual system for damaged parts. Routinely check weight equipment for ripped pads, damaged belts, cables and snap hooks. Refill Gym Wipes needed. Clean equipment pads and consoles as needed.

  5. Other duties.Proper and timely completion of payroll forms. Checking equipment orientation book for orientations during your shift. Checking mailbox for memos, schedules and educational materials. May have to cover fitness desk occasionally. Attendance at staff meetings as scheduled.

JOB TITLE: Part Time Administrative Assistant - Early Childhood Center

Supports staff and leadership, provides customer service, office management. Supports programs to parents, as well as members, of the JECC and Camp Programs (JECC/CP).

JOB TITLE: Facilities Engineer

The Facilities Engineer is a supervised by Agency Administration of the Jewish Community Center of Dallas. The individual will be responsible for completion of assigned tasks for Repair and Maintenance functions of the building and grounds, operation of all major building systems and equipment with specific attention to HVAC (chilled/hot water and pneumatic controls), electrical, plumbing and carpentry repair & maintenance. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR:

  • Complete work-orders for repair and maintenance work on a variety of building physical structures, equipment, and system components.

JOB TITLE: Head Swim Instructor - LK Swim Academy

REPORTS TO: Aquatics Director

This position will instruct lessons in the Swim Right Method™ curriculum of the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy. This part time, nonexempt position will work a maximum of 29 hours a week (weekend hours required). This position does not offer benefits. EOE (equal opportunity employer).

Part Time Hours:
Monday-Friday 1:00 p.m-6:00 p.m
Sunday 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m

 *Hours are subject to change.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 80 percent teaching, 20 percent swim instructor’s management and training
  • Initial interview of new instructors with administrator
  • In the water training session/evaluation of potential new instructors
  • Training of new instructors
  • Final review of new instructors’ teaching skills
  • Quality control of swim instructors staff
  • Instructor performance reviews
  • Periodic training of current staff depending on the number of instructors at the academy, there should be three one hour training sessions devoted to a certain level of the program per month
  • Liaison between pool staff and office/management
  • Development of programs

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Over 2 years of experience in swim instruction
  • 3 weeks of training and shadowing with Aquatics Director
  • Customer service experience /training

It is expected that the LKSA Head Instructor will be a team player as part of the Sports and Fitness team as well as the JCC Professional Staff team. JOB TITLE: LK Swim Academy Administrative Assistant

REPORTS TO: Aquatics Director

The LK Swim Academy Office Assistant will report to the Aquatics Director and will assist in the day to day operations of the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy at the Aquatics department of the Dallas JCC. This nonexempt position will work a maximum of 29 hours a week (weekend hours required). This is not a benefit level position. EOE (equal opportunity employer).

Part Time Hours:

Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-7:00pm

Friday 3:00pm-6:00pm

Sunday 10:00am-3:00pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employee must be confident when using the Links Program as it is heavily used on a daily basis to make bookings and handle customer accounts
  • Employee must understand the LKSA Program (swim levels/scheduling policies)
  • Employee must secure all payment methods (cash/check/credit card)
  • Must be able to handle and assist with aquatics injuries/pool accidents/pool closings
  • Must properly handle LKSA accounts which involves outstanding balances, payment rejections, adjusting amounts due, registering and cancelling lessons, changing lesson times and/or days
  • Answer daily phone calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely manner
  • Close the office/print daily end of shift reports
  • Print instructor schedules on a daily basis
  • Collect attendance and process through Links on a daily basis
  • Print LKSA rosters for security desk
  • Evaluations - Understanding the evaluation board, process of evaluations, and writing evaluations on the evaluation board during end of shift. One must understand how to properly schedule and cancel an evaluation.
  • Employee must understand the early childhood pick up list and update when necessary. This includes picking children up from their classrooms, bringing them to their instructor, and safely returning the children to their classroom teachers in a timely manner.
  • Employee is responsible for finding coverage for the office when unable to work
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Over 2 years of experience in administrative role
  • This position requires 3 weeks of Links Program Training/Shadowing
  • Customer service experience /training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Professional appearance, manner, tone and attitude
  • Strong writing and organizational skills; detailed oriented
  • Efficiency (time sensitive tasks)
  • Multi-task and prioritize
