JOB TITLE: Office Manager - Early Childhood Center

REPORTS TO:
Director of Early Childhood

 

 

Supports staff and leadership, provides customer service, office management. Supports programs to parents, as well as members, of the JECC and Camp Programs (JECC/CP). This exempt salaried position offers a benefits package. EOE (equal opportunity employer).

Hours: Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Excellent written and oral communication is necessary to support the department endeavors.
  • Ability to multitask in order to organize incoming and outgoing communications. Ability to understand the relationship of information and its effect throughout all processes and programs to be proactive and utilize appropriate levels of initiative.
  • Detail oriented. Able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to prioritize in a constantly changing environment.
  • Consistently utilize all features of the computer programs necessary to ensure complete school records.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Access. Ability to learn and implement new programs as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Professional experience in a school environment preferred. Minimum of 5 years in an office/administrative capacity required.
  • Must be able to be flexible with working schedule to participate in family programs, staff meeting, department and agency wide events.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a proven track record of utilizing good judgment and decision making skills to be able to work independently.
  • High school degree or equivalent required. College or vocational degree preferred.
  • Must have a proven track record of intermediate accounting and math skills to process billing, payroll and calculate fees.

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree in related area preferred.
  • Detail oriented and well-organized, with ability to plan projects, activities and schedule several months in advance.
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • This position requires independent judgment, initiative and advanced administrative skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Be available to use transportation for departmental needs, i.e., shopping.

JOB TITLE: Graphics Coordinator – Temporary Position

REPORTS TO: Marketing/Communications and Program Director

 

This should be accomplished through the following non-inclusive list: computer software, illustrations, clean design, graphic layouts, interactive media, e- marketing, visual and written communications, web banners, online ads (future), brand development. The Graphics Coordinator will be an integral part of the creative team and will serve as the “go to” resource for all daily requests.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Excellent communication skills, *proofreading, interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills a must.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – particularly * In Design, Photo Shop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Winn Zip, and Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within the field. Knowledge of E-marketing is essential.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment with a track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and keep cool while wearing many hats in a fast-paced, creative, and flexible environment. Must be detail oriented in all aspects of position.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript, wireframes, cross-browser and cross-platform experience - Flash experience also a plus.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Coordinate daily projects for the Graphics Department (including project management and accounting for projects)
  • Work with staff members and mainly the marketing team on executing marketing projects in a timely manner
  • Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications on strategic planning, Basecamp updates and weekly task management
  • Develop new and/or make revisions to existing InDesign files and other marketing materials as needed.
  • Design and manage promotional printed media (newsletters, brochures, web banners, flyers, etc.). and e-marketing campaigns
  • Excellent proofing and spelling skills.
  • Gather feedback from the Marketing Team on Web development graphic needs.
  • Remain up-to-date on the best practices in technology and Web/print style.
  • Utilize various graphic software tools and technologies to transform graphic concepts into specific electronic applications on and off-line.
  • Ability to maintain a positive customer service attitude when dealing with internal/external customers and vendors.

JOB TITLE: Human Resources and Payroll Manager

REPORTS TO: CFO and Controller

The Human Resource/Payroll Manager is responsible for HR operations and processing of payroll. The candidate supports human resource management functions in areas such as recruitment, compensation and benefits administration, training and development and performance management. This is a fulltime, exempt, benefit level position. EEO (equal opportunity employer) . 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and process semimonthly payroll; ADP experience preferred
  • Track garnishments and other payroll deductions
  • Prepare W2s, imputed income, and all other state and federal tax reporting
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are implemented in areas of human resource and payroll administration
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to hiring and employment practices as well as payroll
  • Audit and reconcile benefit invoices
  • Assure completion of background checks and all new hire paperwork
  • Provide advice and recommend employment policies and procedural improvements
  • Interview job applicants, evaluate skills and make corresponding recommendations
  • Design and conduct employee orientations
  • Prepare and maintain job documentation and job evaluation systems
  • Coordinate and assist with HR policy-related inquiries
  • Recommend, develop and maintain the HR and payroll database, computer software systems, and manual filing system
  • Perform research and prepare reports on regulatory issues and on matters related to periodic government reports and filings
  • Keep updated about changes in relevant legislation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university with specialization in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or comparable discipline
  • SHRM and CPP certification preferred
  • 10 years of experience in human resource and payroll with at least 5 at the manager level
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employment law, compensation, benefits, organizational planning and development, employee relations and training
  • Strong leadership skills; must be detailed and results-oriented, believe in personal accountability and be a role model for agency employees
  • Ability to build rapport with staff and key members of the executive team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality
  • Highly driven self-starter; results-oriented
  • Customer service mentality
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

JOB TITLE: TEACHERS AND SUBSTITUTES -Early Childhood Center

REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood

EXPERIENCED WITH 12 MONTHS THROUGH 4 YEARS OF AGE. 

The perfect candidate will have at least five years’ experience teaching preschool, an education related degree and references.  A candidate in the process of getting their degree with a CDA may be eligible. CPR/Infant CPR and First Aid certifications are required. The ideal candidate will work well in a team atmosphere, follow school policies, and communicate well both verbally and in writing.  Pay is commensurate with experience.   EOE (equal opportunity employer).

JOB TITLE: Head Swim Instructor - LK Swim Academy

REPORTS TO: Aquatics Director

This position will instruct lessons in the Swim Right Method™ curriculum of the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy. This part time, nonexempt position will work a maximum of 29 hours a week (weekend hours required). This position does not offer benefits. EOE (equal opportunity employer).

Part Time Hours:
Monday-Friday 1:00 p.m-6:00 p.m
Sunday 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m

 *Hours are subject to change.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 80 percent teaching, 20 percent swim instructor’s management and training
  • Initial interview of new instructors with administrator
  • In the water training session/evaluation of potential new instructors
  • Training of new instructors
  • Final review of new instructors’ teaching skills
  • Quality control of swim instructors staff
  • Instructor performance reviews
  • Periodic training of current staff depending on the number of instructors at the academy, there should be three one hour training sessions devoted to a certain level of the program per month
  • Liaison between pool staff and office/management
  • Development of programs

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Over 2 years of experience in swim instruction
  • 3 weeks of training and shadowing with Aquatics Director
  • Customer service experience /training

It is expected that the LKSA Head Instructor will be a team player as part of the Sports and Fitness team as well as the JCC Professional Staff team. He/she is expected to be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and the Sports and Fitness Department mission statement and to work within the framework of these two mission statements. He/she is expected to be innovative, imaginative and a positive role model. His/her customer service skills and interpersonal skills must impact every aspect of the job. Responsibilities of the job may be changed as the needs of the JCC and/or community change.
