26th Annual Bagel Run 5K/10K and Kid’s K

Over 375 walkers and runners participated in the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center’s 26th Annual Bagel Run, Sunday, May 6. More than 50 children ran the Kid’s K, and over 325 adults participated in the 5K and 10K.

All of the kids who ran the Kid’s K received participation medals, and the top three finishers, male and female in each age group of the 5K and 10K, earned awards for their great efforts. Schaffer Ochstein was the overall winner of the 10K with a time of 38:43 while Arielle Kaplan took home the top prize for the females in the 10K with a time of 50:34. In the 5K, Gustavo Aguirre took home top honors with a time of 19:34 and Rachel Carp topped the female field with a time of 22:38. In the category of fastest Rabbi, the top prize went to Rabbi Eve Posen who completed the 10K in 44:20.

Bagel Man ordered up some beautiful weather by warding off the rain, then made sure everyone got to enjoy plenty of great bagels from Benny’s Bagels. Bagel Run Chair Mark Kreditor, the sponsors, the wonderful volunteers, and the JCC staff all worked to make this year’s run a huge success.
