Jiu-Jitsu

Often called human chess. Jiu-jitsu uses leverage, position, and technique instead of strikes, so a smaller, calmer kid can control a bigger one. Strength, cardio, balance, and a mind that works under pressure.

What Kids Learn

Technique: joint locks, chokeholds, and compression locks that end a confrontation without a punch thrown.

Focus: gaining and keeping a dominant position on the ground.

Physical benefits: strength, cardio, muscle tone, balance, and reactive ability.

Mental benefits: patience, problem-solving, and composure. It is called human chess for a reason.

Instructor: Richard Allen, a semi-retired J member with a career spanning politics, business, and athletics, including work in Washington for the House Minority Leader and the President before founding an international import/export company.
